Autograph of Toronto Maple Leafs Forward Gord Drillon
Carefully removed from an autograph album where it was signed during the 1936-37 NHL season
Drillon scored 127 goals and 245 points in 263 games across six seasons with the Maple Leafs
Also scored 28 goals, 50 points in 49 games in one season with the Montreal Canadiens
A two-time First-Team NHL All-Star, a one-time Second-Team All-Star, and the 1937-38 NHL leader in goals and points winner, as well as winner of the Lady Byng Trophy as the NHL's most gentlemanly player
Cut short his NHL career in 1943 to serve in the Royal Canadian Air Force in World War 2
A 1942 Stanley Cup Champion with the Maple Leafs, and a 1975 inductee into the Hockey Hall of Fame, Drillon passed away in 1986 at 73 years old
Autograph is in excellent shape with no smudging or bleeding. Page is in great condition with some light surface creasing but was removed carefully from the original album book with no rips or tears.

The signatures in this listing came from an autograph book owned by Donald Deas. He took this book to many NHL games and secured numerous signatures of NHL players. Most of the autographs in the book were secured during the 1936/1937 NHL season with a few others collected into the early 1940s. The ability to collect the signatures was facilitated by a friendship Mr. Deas had with Maple Leaf Gardens official scorer Bill Graham Jr. The autograph book had been stored away by the family over the last 80 years.
