    Description

    Steiff is famous for its adorable dog characters. Foxy Terrier, Bully Bulldog and Snobby Poodle are just some well known examples from a long list! But there are some rare dogs not often seen, especially when they appear in puppet form. Made only from 1963-64,
    Peky
    is certainly one of these desirable dog creations. This
    Pekingese hand puppet
    was finely handcrafted in Germany using the nicest mohair plush. Its endearing look, with oversized glass eyes, is remarkable. This rare little puppet has been gently used and the colors are amazing even after so many years. The airbrushing work gives an added beautiful distressed look that everyone adores. Its head is stuffed with excelsior (wood wool) and has a cardboard finger tube for head movement. It no longer has the Steiff button in ear but it still retains a crisp chest tag with its name. For sure Peky will be a very special addition to any vintage toy collection!
