Vintage Steiff Mohair Circus Elephant, 6.3 in, 1950-60s

Description

Here's a vintage Steiff elephant stuffed toy, probably from the early 1960s.
This Steiff elephant is medium in size, made of gray mohair. Longer mohair at the tip of the tail, with cream tusks, gray felt feet, and a light peach-pink torso. Black and white glass eyes. The elephant is filled with straw, unfortunately it has lost a button in its ear, but it is definitely Steiff. Some parents removed the buttons on toys to prevent them from getting into the mouth of their children.
Average condition, with some mohair tarnishing and a few minor stains on the mohair from time to time showing signs of wear. There is a small hole in the mohair under the left front paw. This is shown in the photo.
Measures 16 cm high by 20 cm long (6,3in height)
